A new look!

HI! We've decided to go with a new layout! Feedback is always welcome!

In the wake of some of the site display issues lately, we've decided to migrate to a new layout. Please feel free to leave feedback if you encounter any display issues! We're eager to hear about it!

Obviously there are a lot of problems on the site and there are a lot of issues needing to be fixed, or tweaked, or replaced, but rest assured, we're on it, and YOUR feedback can help us fix the issues. Thanks in advance, all!

The Part 15 Map of America

Well I've been pretty bored lately, so I started thinking about just how many part 15 stations there are in the USA. So, I began tinkering with Google, and have started making a map of the known part 15 stations in the USA. This is a work in progress, so new stations are added daily, take a look:

The spam catcher and you

Folks, We've made modifications to the spam filter hopefully to benefit all users and be less annoying. This has ended us up with an increase in spam, which we're dealing with as it arrives. Unfortunately, that means sometimes legit posts get caught.
Please keep in mind that if your comment doesn't appear right away, its possible it has been caught by the spam filter and requires manual publishing. Don't repost your message, we will eventually login and approve your message (and train the filter in the process) Be patient, we'll get to your message soon! :)
Thanks!

Mollom captcha removed

I've removed Mollom protection from all forms except: new user register, lost password form, site-wide contact form and user contact forms. This means that authenticated users can post freely without restriction and text analysis.

Why am I doing this? The Mollom product has annoyed too many of our users... So away it goes. We will possibly need to tap some volunteers to unpublish spam posts that may appear. We'll see what needed in the future.

Recent downtime and loss of data

Greets,
Just a quick note so you know whats going on. Apologies for the recent downtime, we lost the hardware that hosted this and a bunch of other sites that I run. Unfortunately at the same time of the loss of the hardware, an issue came to light: a typo in the data backup process for part15.us We lost about a month's worth of data for the website :(

I apologize for not posting this sooner, I've been crazy busy restoring websites. Also, so you guys know, there is no security issue, as that rumor came up elsewhere. We haven't been hacked. your accounts and data are safe. :)

Again, sorry for the downtime and loss of data. that issue is corrected and won't happen again!

When banks own radio stations

Which will apparently be quite soon!

Those leveraged buy-outs that drove massive consolidation seem to have come back on the financiers with a vengence.

Low Power Radio on YouTube

Some of our fellow experimenters have taken the time to post their experiences on YouTube - awesome! I found several that seemed to merit a share, and many more are likely there or soon to be added.

Anyone from here thinking about a vid?
